The Tata Safari has reached the production milestone of 10,000 units. While the first unit of the SUV was rolled out from the automaker’s manufacturing plant in Pune on January 14, 2021, the 10,000th unit was rolled out from the same facility today.
Tata Motors claims that the Safari is one of the top-selling 6/7-seater high SUVs with a current market share of 25.2 per cent in its category. It rivals the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV500.
The Tata Safari was launched in India on February 22, 2021. As of now, it is available in the price range of Rs 14,99,400 to Rs 21,81,400 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The Safari, which is the flagship SUV of Tata Motors, is based on Land Rover’s D8 platform-derived OMEGA architecture and showcases Impact 2.0 design language. It boasts exterior features like Xenon HID projector headlamps, dual-function LED DRLs with turn indicators, LED tail lamps, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof. The SUV’s cabin has an Oyster White theme with either a six-seat or a seven-seat layout. The bells and whistles include a six-way powered driver seat, optional captain seats, Floating Island 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, nine JBL speakers with an amplifier and fully automatic temperature control
